The Ivanovs are preparing to celebrate the New Year in Egypt. But on board the plane they encounter robbers who are trying to take the ring stolen from the museum abroad. A fight ensues in flight, which causes the plane to land urgently in Yerevan. The New Year is coming, the hotels are busy, but Hamlet's brother David helps everyone out. It would seem that now you can safely celebrate the holiday, but the stolen ring accidentally falls to the Ivanovs, and the robbers do not give up trying to return it. This is how the Ivanovs' adventures in Armenia begin.

There he meets his former classmate, Sveta Surkova, who has changed a lot in twenty years. She turned from a gray nerd into a purposeful and self-confident woman who harshly directs moms from the parent committee, and even the school principal is afraid of her. Only one thing remained unchanged – her dislike for Shmelev, who did not give her a quiet life as a child. To stay on the parent committee, he must find a common language with Surkova and the rest of the moms.
Moscow, year 1982. Scientist Matvey Pyotrovsky creates a time machine and conducts a scientific experiment, which divides the apartment in two parts. It's first part is left in the 80-s with the professor, while the second one is transported to year 2020 to a modern family: businessman Sergey, his wife Svetlana and daughter Kristina. This kind of coliving creates a lot of trouble for everybody, since layering of two times means each of the families has lost access to the other part of the apartment. But problems don't end there: inventor's grandson Pavel, after waiting for 38 years, tries to prevent one tragic incident.
