A retired professor has returned to his estate to live with his beautiful young wife, Yelena. The estate originally belonged to his first wife, now deceased; her mother and brother still live there and manage the farm.
It is the 61st birthday of the American author Eugene O'Neill. He is sick, old and his name has started to fade from the public consciousness. His wife Carlotta Monterey is far from supporting, in fact she constantly reminds him of his shortcomings and unfulfilled dreams. Their sons, Eugene Jr. and Shane come to congratulate him (and perhaps expecting to get some money). But they are unable to help their father, since they have their own problems: Eugene Jr. is an alcoholic, Shane is doing drugs.
Gösta Ekman and Kent Andersson play two men, living together for a long time. One a small, skinny and unknown poet - the other a large, famous and celebrated actor.
A woman humiliates and shouts at her husband, before she ties him up and disappears. He frees himself and calls a friend who comes over. He tries to tell the friend how his wife treats him but the friend does not seem to understand or accept what he is saying. The man then puts on his wife’s negligee and suggest a role-play in order for the friend to understand better. The man plays his wife while the friend plays the man. After a while they switch roles. Later the wife returns with a male friend, a psychologist, to find her husband and his friend in female attire.
Vanheden and Dynamit-Harry, together with Harry's fiancée Doris, are in Mallorca while Sickan is still in Stockholm. However, Wall-Enberg talks him into doing a break-in at Las Palmas cathedral in Mallorca. Once persuaded, he can't resist the temptation and travels to Mallorca as well. However, Wall-Enberg obviously can't be trusted. Sickan is framed, caught and put in jail. While being escorted home to Sweden again, Vanheden and Harry sets up a plan to break him free. Sickan, once free, wants payback. The gang discover that an antiques dealer called Germann has something to do with the whole thing and that she's also collaborating with Wall-Enberg. The gang then decide to take a closer look at her and her antiques and they discover that there's a heist being planned against the cathedral in Palma.
Margaretha Knutsdotter Krook (15 October 1925 – 7 May 2001) was a Swedish stage and film actress. She won the Eugene O'Neill Award in 1974. In 1976, she won the Guldbagge Award for Best Actress for the film Release the Prisoners to Spring.[
