Su-a, a six-year-old girl, is trapped in a studio apartment with an iron cord wrapped around her waist. However, she does not cry due to a disorder caused by abuse. While Su-a is dying of hunger, her aunt Soon-im arrives in time to visit and rescue her. Through the account of a neighbor, Soon-im discovers that Su-a's mother has not returned for over 10 days. Soon-im decides to rescue her only niece from her mother.
