Internet celebrity chef Yeung Tak-Kei loses his job after he accidentally reveals his boss's scandal, so he seeks shelter with his maternal half-sister Chu Sau-Na to become a private investigator. Under Sau-Na’s unfavorable employment conditions, Tak-Kei has to convince “Golden Tongue” Mak Sei to join them, leaving him no other choice but to keep making gourmet food for a mystery diner.
The story is set in the 1960s Hong Kong. The sincere Ko Tai Hei smuggles to Hong Kong, where his father's good friend Kam Lo Yik recommended him to join the police force. One day, SUET is horrified to see the dead bodies of her parent being hung on the wall of the city tower, and that the official standing on the top of the tower telling the public not to sell smuggled salt is none other than the man she misses day and night. She is heartbroken, and her love for YUEN turns into hatred that moment on...
