Biography

Zozo (Zoie) Sapountzaki (Thessaloniki, May 27, 1933) is a Greek actress and singer. She was born in Thessaloniki, where she spent her early years. Her father, Socrates, was from Constantinople, while her mother, Fyli, was from Smyrna. She began her theatrical career at the age of 7 with Eleftheriadis's play The Wild One, together with her older sister, Vasso, at the "White Tower Theater". The two of them were a theatrical duo, calling themselves "the chickpea and the chickpea". Vasso left the theater early because she got married and started a family, while Zozo continued a theatrical and film career from then on. Her neighbor was Yiannis Dalianidis, who was, in fact, the one who taught her to dance. She later met Cristiano at the cabaret "Argentina" where he taught her tap dancing. On television, she has appeared in the series The Victim, The Greek Tycoon, Ethniki Papadon, Happy Sunday, Stisichorou 73, Inspection Night, Our Little Inspection, The Three Graces, Roommates in the Madness, The Small and Medium-Sized, The Children of Greece, The Voice, Deligiannion Parthenagogeion, Don't Fish and the 2020 season in Just the 2 Of Us on OPEN.
